Reclaimed antique quilt squares made from feedsack fabric and other vintage fabrics have been crafted into sets of cup coasters by Jamie Ribisi-Braley of Auburn, ME. Stuffed with fresh organic cotton batting and Shaker lavender has been sprinkled inside to give you a relaxing aromatherapy lift with every hot beverage! Jamie loves to find handmade pieces and salvaged materials that need some love and rescue them. This not only reduces our textile waste in landfills, but honors and continues a tradition of handmade fiber art. Jamie is the Office Manager here at Shaker Village and loves sharing handmade traditional arts across the world. Use with glee. Our new line of custom Shaker Village pottery by Jennifer Gammon of Liane Pottery, Lewiston, ME. Stamped with the Shaker Village logo, each piece is a functional keepsake of our favorite place to be ourselves. Honoring the Shaker Herb House and our herb garden, Jennifer has pressed your choice of a rosemary sprigs or sage leaf into each piece where the kiln then burns them off (literally!) -- more plant options (like lavender!) coming real soon! Jenn is harvesting herbs from our Shaker Herb Garden to make these beautiful pieces. Every pressed plant piece is unique, the leaves and flowers are pressed into the wet clay by hand where they stay until the piece is partially fired, during the firing the organic matter burns away and leaves behind an impression in the piece. Jenn carefully applies and accent glaze to the impression and glazes the entire piece before it is fired one last time. 12 oz Mug in white, measures 3.75″ tall - pairs especially well with Shaker tea for the perfect gift set!
