Stunning does not begin to describe this woven belt or skinny scarf (can be used any way!).  The design on this feels like a painting.  Made from cotton, silk, wool, and finished with leather tassels by fiber artist, Susy Perrine. Reds, orange, white, and a hint of bright pink with Susy's handmade red leather tassels.  A gorgeous way to brighten up your wardrobe! Measures 4" wide x 66" long plus tassels.  Very soft materials. Machine washable- lay flat to dry. Susy is a creative weaver living in Woolwich, Maine.  She uses a variety of looms and materials, learning and sharing with others the rich history of textile making. She teaches workshops with us here at Shaker Village in weaving, fiber arts, and trellis building-- her other favorite type of weaving! Susy constructs introspective textiles ranging from handheld, wearable to inhabitable. She studied art at the University of Southern Maine and, for several years, was weaving for Carol Schwartzott, creating a line of textiles that were sold in galleries across the country. Susy was a production weaver for Amy Putansu. She’s worked on large industrial looms including water powered Jacquard and electric powered Dobby looms. She has restored and assembled several barn frame looms.
