Reclaimed vintage textiles with handwork that were screaming for rejuvination! Wife & husband team Jamie Ribisi-Braley and Brian Braley of Auburn, ME salvaged the materials in this everyday zipper tote bag from a beautiful antique quilt square with a tree of life as the front pearl-snap button closure pocket. Set on a base of a black and white heavy cotton tablecloth with rainbow embroidery on the base. Interior is fully lined with a double pock, all made from vintage fabric & finished off with a salvaged metal zipper. Tote bag handles are a soft cotton webbing in olive green.
Jamie & Brian love to find handmade pieces and salvaged materials that need some love and rescue them. This not only reduces our textile waste in landfills, but honors and continues a tradition of handmade fiber art. Jamie is the Office Manager here at Shaker Village and loves sharing handmade traditional arts across the world.
