Maine Flag Basket with Woven Pine Tree design and button star on front handmade by Kathryn Polletto of Kennebunk Basketry in Kennebunk, ME. Made with ash stakes natural and dyed reed. Wood painted star. Rim is made of sweetgrass and a leather handle is attached for hanging on a wall.
Measures approximately 10″ wide, 6″ tall, and the basket flares from 1″ at the bottom to 5″ at the opening. Great for holding mail!
Kathryn has been weaving baskets for over 40 years and is a 2023 Artisan featured in Early American Life Magazine’s Directory of Traditional American Crafts.
