1pm-4pm
In-Person workshop at Shaker Village
Kathleen is graciously donating all money from this workshop as a fundraiser for our Herb House Cultural Center project. Her donation, along with any that you’d like to add at checkout, will be matched 25% by a Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This project, in part, will give Shaker Village expanded space for traditional arts workshops and communal events as well as, obviously, an expanded Herb House facility that will allow for us to produce, dry, and process more herbs in the traditional Shaker method. We are beyond excited for this project and thank you for your support!
Take the mystery out of learning to paint with watercolor in this afternoon workshop with Kathleen Gerdes of Falmouth, ME. In this workshop, we will explore how to use watercolor to create a frameable watercolor painting.
Our subject will be a clay pot with herbs, similar to the photo shown. Appropriate for beginners or for those with some painting experience. The simple techniques and blending of colors will result in a painting that you can take home and frame. Why not spend a relaxing afternoon being creative.
You will go home with a 6×9″ watercolor and have the opportunity to work on smaller pieces if time allows.
We will discuss what types of supplies are used and also learn brush strokes and basic shapes. Develop new skills so that you can enjoy hours of painting at home. It’s fun and easy!
All supplies will be provided for in-class use.
Adults only. All levels are welcome; this is suited for absolute beginners to dabblers that would like to learn Kathleen’s whimsical style.
Minimum 5 students, maximum 10.
Friends of the Shakers members receive $5 off every workshop – join or renew today to claim your discounted ticket.
SOLD OUT – please contact us if you’d like to be added to the waiting list in the event of a cancellation.
