“Put your hands to work, and give your hearts to God” is among the Shakers’ founder Mother Ann Lee’s most enduring and beloved sayings.

We will spend the day performing various helpful and needed tasks around the households, herb department, barn, farm, and gardens. Time spent working together with the Shakers and friends from around the country promises good times, laughter, and a satisfying sense of accomplishment that always lifts spirits, hearts, and bodies.

There will be a check-in table located on the central lawn and a chore list to choose from at sign-in.

There will be options for all levels: indoor/seated/non-physical work to outdoor/very active work — & everything in between!  All ages.

All tools will be supplied but if you have a favorite pair of work gloves, feel free to wear them!

We will share a noon meal of cold cut sandwiches- feel free to bring a side dish or dessert to share with the group.

This event is free of charge an open to all.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Work Day Weather- Mother Nature always wins!

Due to the heavy rain expected, we are at capacity for our indoor tasks but we will be rescheduling the outdoor work for Saturday, May 17th! Please RSVP here if you would like to sign up for the herb garden work next week.
