Fiber artist, New Gloucester resident, sheep farmer, and friend of Shaker Village, Betsey Leslie will lead you in creating a wool sheep figure. The process will include making wire frame work, carding, and wrapping wool, and how to use felting needles to create your own sheep sculpture. Felting needles have tiny barbs on the shaft so that as you poke the wool it meshes the fibers together and holds the shape. It’s easy and fun!

All materials will be supplied. Your kit will include enough material to make at least 2 full-sized sheep or a mix of sheep and babies – your choice while you’re felting them.

Class size:

This workshop is also available on-demand as an instant-access workshop to view and make at your leisure.
