Living the Shaker-like Life – A Retreat for Women October 2018
“Living the Shaker-like Life”
A Retreat for Women at Shaker Village
October 12-16, 2018
Sabbathday Lake is an active Shaker Village as it has been since 1783 so what better place to learn about Shaker life than Sabbathday Lake? There will be interaction with the Shakers themselves centering on contemporary daily life, music and history. Parts of the day will have participants spending time working on the Shaker farm, researching in the Shaker Library, and quiet time. A complete schedule will be issued as October approaches. Rev. Lynne Josselyn, retired Methodist clergy, will be the retreat leader.
Participants will join the Shakers for meals, devotional prayers, and original Shaker spirituals. Free time will be provided for quiet meditation, socializing, visiting the Shaker Museum, shopping, hiking/walking around the property.
Contact Lenny Brooks with any question prior to registering and paying here at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 207-926-3188.
