Wet Felting Workshop
Saturday, July 22, 2017, 9am–12pm
Fiber artist, New Gloucester resident, sheep farmer, and friend of Shaker Village, Betsey Leslie will teach this wet felting workshop. You will learn different techniques of using water, soap, and agitation with different resources to create the binding affect. You will learn to use a felting stone, nylon, and bubblewrap to create dryer balls, wool beads to string into a garland, and acorn earrings. You will also wet felt a wool fabric that could be used to create a felted vessel or scarf. The possibilities are endless!
All materials will be supplied. Class size: 10
Consider taking the afternoon Needle Felting workshop, too, and making a full day of felting fun! This series of workshops will explore the different techniques of felting wool with needle felting and wet felting. Felt is a textile produced by matting, condensing, and pressing wool fibers together. Learn one or both!
