Needle Felting Workshop: Sheep
Saturday, July 22, 2017, 1pm–4pm
Fiber artist, New Gloucester resident, sheep farmer, and friend of Shaker Village, Betsey Leslie will lead you in creating a wool sheep figure. The process will include making wire frame work, carding, and wrapping wool, and how to use felting needles to create your own sheep sculpture. Felting needles have tiny barbs on the shaft so that as you poke the wool it meshes the fibers together and holds the shape. It’s easy and fun!
All materials will be supplied. Class size: 10
Consider taking the morning Wet Felting workshop, too, and making a full day of felting fun! This series of workshops will explore the different techniques of felting wool with needle felting and wet felting. Felt is a textile produced by matting, condensing, and pressing wool fibers together. Learn one or both!
