Knitting for Beginners Workshop
Saturday, June 10, 2017, 10am–2pm
Fiber artist, New Gloucester resident, sheep farmer, and friend of Shaker Village, Betsey Leslie will teach the basic skills of knitting. You will become familiar with knitting terms, reading a pattern, checking a gauge, increasing, decreasing, and exploring different textile patterns achieved with knitting and purling. You will use Shaker wool yarn to create a pouch with a button closure. Betsey will enthusiastically teach you about keeping traditional arts alive – learn a new skill and make some new friends!
All materials will be supplied including bamboo knitting needles and Shaker yarn. Class size: 8
