Intermediate Knitting: Christmas Stocking Workshop

$50.00$55.00

Saturday, September 16, 2017, 10am–3pm

Fiber artist, New Gloucester resident, sheep farmer, and friend of Shaker Village, Betsey Leslie will teach you how to knit a mini stocking. This workshop is for knitters that already know the basics of knitting and purling (or have taken the Beginner’s Knitting workshop).

Students will complete a miniature Christmas stocking and take home a pattern for a larger stocking. Learn to knit with multi-colors, use a bobbin, graph a pattern, and turn a heel. There is something magical about creating and executing your own design! Start a fun family tradition by creating unique Christmas stockings using Shaker wool yarns. Betsey will enthusiastically teach you about keeping traditional arts alive – learn a new skill and make some new friends!

All materials will be supplied including bamboo knitting needles and Shaker wool yarn. Class size: 8

Consider following up later in the season by taking the Intermediate Knitting workshop! (link coming soon)
