2-Day Workshop: Saturday, June 10 & Saturday, June 24, 2017, 9am–4pm each day

Sister Eliza Jeffers (1868-1955) produced a number of hooked rugs at the Alfred and Sabbathday Lake Shaker Villages. Join Beth Miller of Parris House Wool Works for two Saturdays of learning this heritage North American craft.

Participants will hook an 8″ x 8″ design inspired by the Shakers’ sheep! This can then be finished as a table mat or wall hanging, or a scented buckwheat or stuffed pillow – your choice! All materials are included (including Shaker wool and curly local wool fiber) and hooking frames will be available to borrow for the duration of the class or to purchase at the end.

Please bring a small pair of scissors – embroidery scissors are perfect. Workshop is suited for beginner and intermediate levels.  Class size: 10.
